School Readiness

Transitioning to school can be a tricky journey for your child as much as it can be for you the parent/care giver. To make the process a smooth and happy one we run a school readiness program which focuses heavily on the school’s requirements.

Getting Ready For ‘Big School’!

Our preschool program is focused on preparing children for the transition to school. We look at different key areas and note how your child is progressing. We also ask both the child and the caregivers to put forward their thoughts and suggestions. This information is packaged together and given to the child’s future school to ensure the smoothest of transitions.

Our in depth, holistic approach to school readiness is reflected in our program with weekly focuses. We run this program alongside school terms with weekly (fun) homework to help children become confident and to create a routine in preparation for primary school.

Taylor Child Care works closely with local primary schools, hosting information nights and liaising with teachers to ensure we’re providing the best start for each child according to their future teachers. We very much encourage parent participation at our centre and at home, for instance with homework sheets that display the childrens developing confidence and include families in their learning.

We include a Jolly Phonics program to help children link sound, sight and creation of English letters.

Our school readiness program is non-compulsory and children and families are welcome to choose to participate at their own level.
